Equilateral Technologies Engineers to Present Wireless Coverage Optimization Solutions at VTC 2006
Lexington, MA, May 1, 2006 — Equilateral Technologies Inc. The latest solutions for automated coverage optimization in wireless networks will be presented at the IEEE Vehicular Technology Conference by engineers from Equilateral Technologies. The conference will be held September 25-28, 2006, in Montreal, Canada.
The presentation, “Automated Coverage Optimization in Wireless Networks”, by D. Fagen, P. Vicharelli, and J. Weitzen, will highlight a new method of simultaneously maximizing coverage while minimizing interference. This leads to an improvement in network quality, cost, coverage and capacity. The approach is novel in that it focuses on those network parameters that can be represented by continuous variables, and applies classical optimization methods. Results will be presented for transmit power optimization. Sample networks show significant coverage improvement and interference reduction. By determining the desired network coverage with a minimum of overlap, this method provides a starting point for the application of capacity enhancing algorithms.
